Introducing our newly elected President

W. Fanchon Glover, EdD

Fanchon (Chon) Glover is a 1990 graduate of Presbyterian College (Clinton, SC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. She worked as the College’s first Black administrator from 1990-1996 serving as Director of Minority Affairs and Volunteer Services. In February 1996 she accepted the position of Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs at The College of William and Mary. She completed her Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration in 1999 and her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration at William and Mary in 2006. She is currently the Assistant to the President at The College of William and Mary.

She was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in spring of 2007 through Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter. She was #13 on the 13 Gems of DiSTinction line. Her first introduction to Delta was working with the 2008 Spring State Meeting that was hosted by Williamsburg Alumnae. In the chapter she has served as May Week and Program committee chair, member of Arts and Letters and Relay for Life, and Vice-President. She has attended every national and regional conference since being initiated and actively participated in the Virginia Fall/Spring State meetings.

Williamsburg Deltas on the Move

    

  • Soror Ericca Dent graduated from William and Mary  this month and will be attending graduate school at the College of William and Mary.

  • Soror Kimberly Carter was presented with the 2011 Dr. Elizabeth R. Morgan Award—very well deserved.  She also passed her State Procurement examination.

  • Soror Darlene Freeman has accepted a new position with the Pentagon.

  • Soror Leigh Soares who will be graduating from William and Mary this summer and returning to Boston to begin doctoral studies.

Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated recognize their annual International Day of Service on the historic Duke of Gloucester Street at the Williamsburg Farmers Market focusing on the necessity of having clean drinking water throughout the world.  Sorority members distributed information enclosed in a cup, on clean drinking water, as well as provided a healthy snack and blood pressure checks to market goers.  Sorority members pictured from left to right are Barbara Haywood, W.     Service project during them months of December 2011 and January 2012.  Williamsburg Alumnae provided coats for Head Start kids, read to students at County schools and volunteered our service to the Salvation Army.
